Does Your Site Use HTTPS?
Even if you aren’t selling anything on your website, check if your site has an SSL certificate. The reason for this? Search engines, such as Google, give priority to secure websites that use HTTPS over HTTP sites.
Is Your Website Visible to Search Engines?
If you want your website to be listed on Bing, Google, and other search engines, you need to ensure that your site is visible. If you aren’t sure, head over to the settings tab on your WordPress dashboard and ensure that the checkbox listed next to “Search Engine Visibility” is not checked off. If it is, your site will not be listed in the search results.
Is There An XML Sitemap?
Having an XML sitemap makes it easier for search engines to find and index your website. While it won’t boost your rankings instantly, having an XML sitemap will allow search engines to crawl your site better and quickly discover any new content.
Are There Broken Links on Your Website?
When someone clicks on a broken link to a page that no longer exists on your website, a 404 error will occur. This can happen when a page is moved or deleted or when your site is moved to a new domain. If you leave broken links on your site, it can negatively affect your SEO and your keyword ranking, so look for any dead links and fix them.
