Social Media Campaign Tips: Part II

Earlier this month we provided the first set of answers on how to run a successful social media campaign. All in all, there is a lot of planning involved with putting together a sound strategy for your business’ social media campaign, and while this can be difficult to handle on your own, we are here to help. Know that Less is More

Once you establish your business online and become familiar with the social networks available, you should start to concentrate on using just a few social media platforms. Remember that less is more, so you don’t have to keep every social media network updated, just the ones that pertains most to your brand. Since each social network has their own unique audience, you will want to concentrate on the networks that will provide the most value to your business. Once you have determined your target group, focus your energy on that audience; don’t just assume that everyone is interested in your service or product.

Incorporate Hashtags

Once you determine your strategy, goals, and target audience, choose a hashtag that effectively represents your brand and content. You can also use hashtags to engage with your audience, increase your posts chances of being seen. In addition, hashtags can be used to analyze your competition, as well as your audience’s statements on social media. With hashtags you can effectively create and track engagement, as well as create some positive traction. The best part is that you are able to see what your audience is saying about your company, and this gives you the perfect opportunity to respond and like these comments.

Engage with your Audience

Be sure you are engaging with your audience on social media, and allow for two-way communication between you and your audience. By interacting with your audience you humanize your brand and validate your online presence. You can mention your brand, but don’t go overboard; you can also engage with your fans by using jokes, trivia questions, and videos to connect to your audience. Ask questions to encourage participation from your audience, tag people and groups, and use trending hashtags. Once you have interactions with your audience, their followers and friends will start to notice you and this can translate into more followers.

Know What to Post

Don’t handle your business accounts the same way you handle a personal account. Remember to post content that your target audience cares about, content that they will find meaningful. This will increase your chances of your audience turning to your brand, and they will be more likely to share your content with others in their own networks. Remember, this will take some time, and a bit of trial and error. You will have to put yourself into your audiences’ shoes in order to find the proper methodology. However, once you establish an effective approach, positive results will be sure to follow!
